Welcome to Foremark Fishery

230 acre day ticket fishery in the Derbyshire countryside for trout and pike.

A trout and predator day ticket fishery on a 230 acre reservoir set in the beautiful Derbyshire Countryside. The fishery offers bank fishing and a limited number of boats are also available for guests. Fly fishing and spinning permitted (later in season) with a chance of a 15lb+ trout or 35lb+ pike. *** Government guidance changed and many legal restrictions were changed to advice from 19th July 2021. Please be assured we will be continuing to apply the same practices as before with boat disinfection, sanitiser and social distancing. We ask you still wear face masks in the lodge and to social distance for everyones safety. We now take contactless payment as well as bank transfers. *** Fishing 08th September to 12th September The water temperature has remained stable around 18C-19C despite the warm and bright start to the week, probably limited by the large amount of fresh water being pumped in at Cascade making the water level high. With the slightly lower temperature we managed to get a mixed stocking of 2lb rainbows and 2.5lb browns in from Dunsop Bridge. The boat average was 1.5 and the bank was unfortunately mainly the odd single fish. Mr Kevin Hart had joint best fish of a 4lb rainbow, Marco caught the other. No browns reported caught. Most fish caught on various fry patterns and shrimps but notably a fish Dermot took was rammed full of buzzers even though it took a fry pattern. The usual places yielded fish, this being Bubbles (where some quite big fish were) and Carvers where several larger fish fry feeding but both locations proving difficult despite fish showing. Also, fish continue to move into Flamingo. We also had a Foremark Fly Fishers social match on Sunday with a good turn out and the short afternoon match was won by Andy Steer. Please see their Facebook page and website if you wish to get involved. We still suggest having a DI7 line set up along with a floating line for any opportunist rising fish. STILL five free trout flies for first angler catch a blue! Photo or the fish as evidence. We have STILL not seen one for some time. Fishery Staff decision is final. *** We currently have staff self isolating so are operating limited opening days this week, please ring to check and book in. Apologies for any inconvenience. *** *** We are open for pike fly fishing from 01 September 2021 - pike fishing not permitted at the bubbles until the trout disperse. *** *** We will be open for fishing until 19:25 (anglers off site by 19:40) on Friday 17th September 2021, £10 C&R for last four hours. Boats subject to availability on the day. All boats currently booked for Saturday 18th September. *** email us at foremarkfishery@gmail.com

Foremark Reservoir

Foremark is a 230 acre supplied with water from the River Dove. The reservoir is close to the historic town of Repton. The water is up to 100 foot deep in places and has a wide range of depths to fish including some attractive bays including the Cascade inlet itself. We stock the reservoir with hard fighting rainbows, browns and some blues and there are also resident pike, perch and other coarse fish species including barbel and chub. Sometimes the chub, which run to around 3lb, also take the fly. If it lives in the River Dove its highly likely its also in the reservoir. The perch have been scarce recently but 14lb+ browns and 9lb+ rainbows have been caught in 2020. These are residents that have grown on.
